Riddle by Emily Dickinson

Can you guess what she is describing?

Blazing in Gold and quenching in Purple
Leaping like Leopards to the Sky
Then at the feet of the old Horizon
Laying her spotted Face to die
Stooping as low as the Otter's Window
Touching the Roof and tinting the Barn
Kissing her Bonnet to the Meadow
And the Juggler of the Day is gone

I'm hopeless at these - I could never do crosswords either. If it's not the sun, I don't know what it is.
It reminds me a bit of that Riddle in Emma, which she and Harriet hopelessly misunderstand as a declaration of love for Harriet.

haha, yeah me too... i thought it was some complicated thing, but apparently it is the rise and fall of the daytime. It is quite sweet.
